Acupuncture – The shallow insertion and placement of hair-thin, flexible needles into the muscles to initiate a physiological response that can help pain, anxiety and general well-being and happiness.
Electrical Stimulation – Using the same premise as a “TENS Unit”, tiny electric leads may be placed on the needles to provide stimulating pulses across the skin and nerve strands. This technique stimulates the body to both produce endorphins (i.e., the body’s natural painkillers) and to prevent pain signals from reaching the brain. It is a comfortable procedure and very effective for pain.
Cupping – Placement of glass cups on the larger areas of the body (such as the upper back and shoulders) that provide gentle pressure to oxygenate muscles and release tension.
Nutrition Counseling – Acupuncturists are mandated by the state of New Jersey to practice nutrition counseling for their patients.
