A typical acupuncture treatment consists of an ‘intake’ (similar to one you’d experience at any doctor’s office) and a treatment. The intake involves inquiry by the acupuncturist as to your main complaint, how your symptoms are affecting your daily function, what makes it feel better/worse and what treatments you are presently undergoing for your illness or syndrome.
The acupuncturist will then begin your treatment based on her findings. Treatment may involve the insertion of tiny needles, cupping and in some cases, herbal therapy. She may also offer suggestions about your daily routine, diet, movement, and amount of sleep that may help to alleviate your condition.
