Acupuncture for Pain

Acupuncture can be a very powerful treatment for pain with the added benefit of virtually no side-effects. In addition, it can often treat the root cause of your pain problem to provide long-term relief.

Acupuncture and Chinese medicine offer safe and effective health care, either in conjunction with your standard health care for a particular condition, or by itself as a natural way to manage stress and improve quality of life.  We’ll work together to identify what it is you need from acupuncture or Chinese medicine to facilitate your health and personal goals in healing.

How does it work?

Acupuncture initiates the following biomechanical responses in the human body:

  • Stimulates chemicals in the connective tissue (fascia) beneath the skin involved in tissue repair.(3)
  • Secretes plasma proteins from cells that can enhance the body’s immunity and decrease inflammation.(2)
  • Activates muscular nerve impulses and signals to the brain that decrease pain.(1, 4, 5)
  • Regulates chemical messengers to restore homeostasis of the body’s natural functions.(6)
