Many of my patients are surprised to learn that, very often their health insurance plan covers acupuncture for pain. Typically, the plan will cover a certain percentage of the fee or a limited number of visits per year. Often, there is a deductible that has to be satisfied before the insurance company will pay for treatment.
I am an out-of-network provider with the following insurance companies, and I will bill your insurance company directly on your behalf if you wish:
- Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield
- Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield
- United Health Care
- Cigna
- Aetna
Although I am happy to help my patients educate themselves about health insurance, it’s best if you contact your insurance company before your first appointment to confirm that they cover acupuncture treatment for your particular ailment.
